Join the International Day of Forests celebration!

A celebration of the International Day of Forests event will take place on Thursday 21 March, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST, in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, UNHQ.

• Featured speakers in the event include H.E. Ambassador Zéphyrin Maniratanga, Chair of UNFF 19, Ms. Leticia Zamora Zumbado, Vice-Chair of UNFF19, Mr. Javad Momeni, Vice-Chair of UNFF 19, USG Li Junhua, UNDESA and UNFFS Director Ms. Juliette Biao.
• A panel discussion will feature presenters from Member States, CPF partners, NGOs, youth, the private sector and communications experts.
• The general discussion will feature statements from Member States, UN entities and other accredited organisations.
• The event will also feature a screening of short forest films including Forests and innovation – new solutions for a better world (FAO) and three short films from the 2024 World Wildlife Day Film Showcase (CITES and Jackson Wild) – How Old Cell Phones Are Protecting the Rainforest, This New AI Forensic Tool is Fighting Illegal Logging and NASA Joins Jane Goodall to Conserve Chimp Habitats.
