The Hague, 19 May 2008
PA334e

The Tribunal’s President, Judge Fausto Pocar, will arrive today in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a three-day working visit. He will discuss the country’s cooperation with the ICTY, as well as issues related to the Tribunal’s legacy with a number of interlocutors, including state representatives, members of the judiciary and victim associations. His first meeting will be at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Pocar will also travel to the town of Foča in the southeast of the country where he will visit the prison there. The Tribunal remains extremely concerned at the fact that Radovan Stanković, who escaped from Foča prison on 25 May 2007, is still at large. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Stanković to 20 years’ imprisonment for rape and other crimes against humanity committed in Foča after his case was referred to Bosnia and Herzegovina by the ICTY.
