Michal Komada is a Senior Adviser on Political Issues in the Office of the President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Michal has more than 14 years of diplomatic experience, having joined the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic in 2003.

He has served as a Political Coordinator of the Permanent Mission of Slovakia to the United Nations in New York (2013-2017) and as the Rapporteur of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee during the 68th Session of the General Assembly. Michal has also been posted to the Netherlands as a Political Adviser and an Alternate to the Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague (2006-2010).

At Ministry Headquarters in Bratislava, Michal served in the Cabinet of the State Secretary of Foreign and European Affairs (as a Political Coordinator in 2012-2013), the European Union Economic Policies Department (as a Deputy Head of Unit in 2011-2012 and a member of the Slovak team negotiating the EU budget for 2014-2020), the Directorate-General for European Affairs (Secretary in 2004-2005) and the Department of European Union External Relations (Desk Officer in 2003-2004).

Michal holds a degree in Political Science from Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.

He speaks Slovak, English and Russian.
