Readout of the Deputy Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia

As part of her ongoing trip to Liberia for the closure of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), the National Reconciliation Conference and the High-Level Meeting to initiate the design of the national development agenda, the Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, met on 22 March in Monrovia with H.E. Mr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia. 

The Deputy Secretary-General underlined the commitment of the United Nations to support his administration to achieve meaningful progress in addressing sustaining peace and advancing sustainable development. The Deputy Secretary-General also assured the President that the United Nations will remain committed to Liberia beyond the end of UNMIL’s mandate on 30 March.
