The Secretary-General met on Sunday, 24 March, with H.E. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo.

They discussed developments in the Middle East region, including Gaza. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Egypt’s important mediation role in the region.

The Secretary-General also thanked Egypt for its continuous efforts to scale up humanitarian aid into Gaza and to find a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
