Informal Consultations of States Parties

Seventeenth round of Informal Consultations of States Parties to the Agreement, serving as a further preparatory meeting for the resumed Review Conference on the Agreement

(15 to 17 May 2024)


NEW: Pursuant to paragraph 72 of resolution 78/68, the seventeenth round of informal consultations of States Parties to the Agreement (ICSP-17), will be held at United Nations Headquarters on 15 to 17 May 2024. ICSP-17 will focus its discussion on the topic "Sustainable fisheries management in the face of climate change".

The General Assembly, in paragraph 73 of resolution 78/68, requested the Secretary-General to invite States parties to the Agreement, as well as States and entities referred to in the Convention and in article 1, paragraph 2 (b), of the Agreement not parties to the Agreement, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and other relevant organizations, bodies, funds and programmes within the United Nations system, the secretariats of relevant organizations and conventions and other relevant intergovernmental organizations and bodies, in particular subregional and regional fisheries management organizations and arrangements and related regional intergovernmental marine science organizations, and relevant non-governmental organizations, in accordance with past practice, to attend the seventeenth round of informal consultations of States parties to the Agreement, while relevant scientific institutions may request an invitation to participate in the consultations as observers.
