Mogens Lykketoft, the President of the UN General Assembly, met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar on Monday just after the Emir’s speech to the General Assembly Debate.
They exchanged views on regional issues in the Middle East including the situation in Palestine, Syria and Yemen. They underscored the challenges of the current crisis in the region and their impacts on people. They agreed on the need to strengthen efforts to address the root causes behind them and work towards finding lasting solutions.
