STRIVING FOR PEACE AND A DECENT LIFE FOR ALL ON A SUSTAINABLE PLANET
The President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák identified sustainable development as a priority. He will convene a meeting on Financing for the Sustainable Development Goals on 11 June 2018, bringing together representatives from World Bank, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), regional development banks, and businesses. The event will provide a platform for stronger public-private partnerships. It also aims to explore what the United Nations can do to better to align itself with the rapidly-changing world of international finance, and to support the 2030 Agenda and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda.
Member States are encouraged to participate at the highest possible level. Missions and offices are required to submit their accreditation requests by using the existing online e-Accreditation system, available through the e-Delegate portal available here.
Given the capacity of ECOSOC Chamber, the name plates will only display “Member State” generically without the name of a specific country.
Please note that there is no general debate or list of speakers during the event. We highly encourage Member States to engage in interactive dialogues with speakers without prepared statements.
During the panel discussion, Member States wishing to speak can press the button on the console. Secretariat staff will come to collect their names. When the speaker is acknowledged by the moderator, he/she would again press the microphone button to speak.
PaperSmart Services will be available for this meeting. Delegations are kindly requested to submit electronic versions of their statements for posting on the PaperSmart portal to papersmart[at]un.org. The title and the date of the meeting should be indicated in the subject line of the e-mail.
Please note that there is no general debate or list of speakers during the event. We highly encourage UN System representatives to engage in interactive dialogues with speakers without prepared statements. UN system representatives wishing to speak will be accommodated as time allows.
The application process to speak or attend the event is closed. To see all applications, please click here.
Additional information on access passes will be provided via email.
Regarding accreditation, official media accompanying Heads of Delegation must request media passes in advance through the eAccreditation system on the eDelegate portal: https://delegate.un.int/.
Media members who wish to apply independently should register via the following link: http://www.un.org/en/media/accreditation/request.shtml
For any other media inquiry other than accreditation, please contact the spokesperson of the President of the General Assembly, Mr. Brenden Varma, at 212 963 7238 or varmab[at]un.org.
All members of the media with valid media passes will be escorted to designated media booths or seating areas in all event venues by the Media Accreditation and Liaison Unit (MALU). Questions or concerns should be directed to MALU at
