The Secretary-General’s 2024 Global Call for nominations for the pool of Special Representatives of the Secretary-General (SRSGs), Deputy Special Representatives of the Secretary-General (DSRSGs), and Special Envoys has been extended until 15 August 2024.
Previously held in 2017, 2019, and 2021, the Global Call aims to advance gender parity and geographical diversity at the senior leadership level in United Nations field missions.
Member States, regional, international and non-governmental organizations, currently or formerly serving UN senior leaders, as well as UN entities are encouraged to submit nominations. Individual applications are also accepted.
Staff members at the Director level and above will be considered. Nominations of women and candidates from underrepresented regions, as well as French and Arabic speakers are strongly encouraged.
Following an internal review process, candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be included in the SRSG/DSRSG/Special Envoy pool of candidates.
Only those found suitable for specific posts, as and when they arise, will be invited to participate in a competitive selection process.
