The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. José Ulisses Correia e Silva, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed Cabo Verde’s progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including through the National Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development 2022-2026 (“PEDS II”) and efforts towards economic recovery and poverty alleviation. They also discussed efforts towards advancing the agenda of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The Secretary-General reiterated the support and solidarity of the United Nations to the Government and people of Cabo Verde.
