The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.  

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation to Kazakhstan for hosting a temporary remote office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Almaty and for humanitarian cooperation. 

The Secretary-General and the Deputy Prime Minister also discussed developments in Afghanistan and in the region.
