From Africa Renewal: 

United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has appointed Joanne Adamson of the United Kingdom as his new Deputy Special Representative for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).  Ms. Adamson most recently served as Deputy Head of the European Union delegation to the United Nations.  She succeeds Koen Davidse of the Netherlands.


Nicholas Haysom of South Africa has been appointed as the Special Representative for Somalia and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). He most recently served as the Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan.  Mr. Haysom succeeds Michael Keating of the United Kingdom.


Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre of Sweden has been appointed as the Force Commander of United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali.  He most recently served as Chief of the Swedish Defence Staff and Head of Special Forces. Lieutenant General Gyllensporre succeeds Major General Jean-Paul Deconinck of Belgium.


Stephanie T. Williams of the United States has been appointed as the Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs in Libya, United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). Ms. Williams most recently served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Missions in Iraq.
