Investment Support Programme for LDCs

The Investment Support Programme for the Least Developed Countries by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) and the UN-OHRLLS provides on-demand legal and professional assistance to LDC governments and eligible state-owned or private sector entities for investment-related negotiations and dispute settlement. The programme also supports training and capacity-building activities. It functions through a collaboration between the International Development Law Organization and UN-OHRLLS and its services are provided by private law firms and other experts, at no cost to LDCs. In 2020, the first engagement under the Investment Support Programme led to a favourable arbitration outcome for the Gambia.

What happens after graduation? Graduated countries remain eligible to apply for assistance under the programme for a period of five years after the date of graduation.
