Young scientists from least developed countries who hold an MSc (or higher degree) can visit research laboratories at Centres of Excellence in Trieste, Italy, for three months to carry out collaborative research projects in the fields that fall under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). South-South cooperation: Empowering Young Women Scientists from LDCs

Summary

Investing in women and girls in science, technology and innovation (STI) in the LDCs is imperative. UN and countries can support this endeavor through South-South cooperation. In commemoration for the International Women's Day, UNOSSC and ICGEB are organizing an interactive dialogue among senior women representatives from the UN system and young female scientists from LDCs. A special documentary series featuring 5 young women scientists' journey will be premiered after the interactive dialogue.

From TWAS/UNESCO: Call for nominations for award recognizing scientists from LDCs

The TWAS-Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Award recognizes scientists from Least Developed Countries (LDCs). It carries a cash award of USD4,000. The 2022 award will honour a scientist working in an area relevant to sustainability. The deadline for nominations is 20 April 2022. More information here
