Stephen Shore’s book, “Beyond the Wall: Personal Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome”, 2nd ed. will be sold during the “Meet the Author” series on World Autism Awareness Day.
This honest, courageous book, written by a person with high-functioning autism and Asperger Syndrome, offers so much more than the traditional autobiography.
Drawing on personal and professional experience, Stephen Shore combines the three voices of an individual with autism, an expert in the field of autism and special education, and educator, to create a touching and, at the same time, highly informative book for professionals as well as individuals who have autism and Asperger Syndrome.
“Beyond the Wall” uses the autobiographical structure to address the challenges in education, sensory issues, and the meaningful inclusion of children with autism in the music curriculum.
The book also explores successful navigation of transition to adulthood in the area of self-advocacy, higher education, relationships employment, and more!

Film screening of "This Is My Child"

Presented by the UN Department of Public Information, the Israeli National Autism Association, and the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations
"This is my Child" is a film is about how families deal with the challenges of having children with autism. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Hagit Ron Rabinovich, journalist and mother of an autistic child, as well as Einat Cassuto, General Director of ALUT, the Israeli National Autism Association.
