Around the world

The United Nations Department of Public Information worked with UN Offices, Member States, and civil society around the world to mark the 2008 anniversary.

It was a solemn occasion to pay tribute to the victims and survivors of the genocide, as well as an opportunity to educate and mobilize civil society on ways to prevent, and stop, future acts of genocide.
