The list of speakers for the general debate and the expressions of interest for the high-level thematic round tables will open at 9 a.m. on Friday, 13 January. Please see additional details below.

List of speakers

Requests for inscription to the list of speakers for the general debate from States participating in the Conference and the European Union should be sent through the eSpeakers module accessible through the e-deleGATE portal (under Conference> 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries at https://edelegate.un.int) before 5 p.m. (New York time) on Friday, 17 February 2023. The live rolling list of speakers will be circulated via e- deleGATE and announced in the LDC5 edition of the Journal of the United Nations. Questions relating to the list of speakers of the general debate can be addressed to the Secretariat (galindo@un.org).

Representatives of accredited intergovernmental organizations and other entities, associate members of regional commissions, specialized agencies and related organizations and interested United Nations organs that are also invited to express their interest in delivering a statement, time permitting, during the general debate through the eSpeakers module accessible through the e-deleGATE portal (under Conference> 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries at https://edelegate.un.int) before 5 p.m. (New York time) on Friday, 17 February 2023. Those without access to the e-deleGATE portal are invited to express their interest to the Secretariat (galindo@un.org).

The time limit for all statements (for individual delegations as well as for statements made on behalf of a group) will be five minutes.

Expressions of interest in the High-level thematic round tables

The Conference will include eight high-level thematic round tables that will be held in parallel to the plenary meetings. It is envisaged that up to 25 States and 8 other participants (3 minutes each) would be accommodated to speak during the interactive debate of each round table.

Participating States and the European Union are invited to express their interest in making an intervention in up to three high-level thematic round tables in the order of their preference by clicking on the “register” button under the Conference> 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries > High-level thematic round tables tab on the e-deleGATE platform until Friday, 17 February 2023 (at 5 p.m.).

The list of participants envisaged to speak in each high-level thematic round table during the interactive debate will be made available prior to the Conference. Questions relating to the expressions of interest in the round tables can be addressed to the Secretariat (cianciulli@un.org).
